Jay Ungar and Molly Mason

Since joining forces in the late 1970s, Jay Ungar and Molly Mason have become one of the most celebrated duos on the American acoustic music scene. With their comfortable sense of fun and their love of the music, they make each concert a musical journey – sometimes spanning two continents and two centuries. Their incomparable warmth and wit coupled with consummate musicianship have delighted audiences worldwide.

Their performance of Jay's haunting composition Ashokan Farewell, featured on Ken Burns' Civil War documentary series, earned the couple international acclaim. The soundtrack won a Grammy and Ashokan Farewell was nominated for an Emmy.

  The Shockenaw Mountain Boys

The Shockenaw Mountain Boys

The Shockenaw Mountain Boys are an acoustic subset of the nationally renowned Railroad Earth. Their high-energy improvisations and impressive vocals on traditional and original songs were an all-time highlight of our Minstrel concert series. Tim Carbone on fiddle and Andy Goessling on guitar and banjo gained Jersey rock fame in the Blue Sparks from Hell. John Skehan on mandolin, and Johnny Grubb (of Emmitt & Nershi) on bass round out this super string group.
 

Annie and The Hedonists

Anchored by Annie Rosen's incomparable voice, The Hedonists delight audiences with everything from jazz, swing, blues, and folk to bluegrass, with a sampling of honky-tonk country thrown in for good measure. Jonny Rosen on guitar, multi-instrumentalist Peter Davis and bassist Don Young provide the harmonies, the top-notch arrangements, and the kind of good times that's made them Project festival favorites.

180 festival guests can’t be wrong! And we’re thanking them for choosing Matt among all last festival’s guests to be featured at this spring’s festival. He’s a singer/songwriter with a touch of soul, a hint of funk and strong folk/Americana streak. His songs are real stories about everyday people and the extraordinary circumstances that life throws at them and us. Expect to hear the vocal and instrumental prowess that made him a fest guest favorite.
 

Julie Edelston

Julie is a talented and young Folk Projectile-since-birth, with a beautiful voice, a winning stage presence and a lot of natural and cultivated talent. Expect to hear powerful renditions of rock, pop, and indie songs of the past few decades, as well as some memorable originals. She's accomplished on the piano and ukulele, and she's such a favorite at our teen concerts that we're bringing her out on our main festival stage.

"Big Jeff" DeSmedt - Family Performer

This very tall award-winning entertainer will bring his special blend of humor, insight, and instruction to young audiences throughout the weekend. His specialty is “super-interactivity” and keeping the youngest of youngsters involved with his delightful songs. He sold over 10,000 CDs and DVDs to his large and loyal family fan base. were developed as part of this ongoing dialog with thousands of youngsters at preschools, libraries, parties and concerts. Diane Perry - Music Instructor

Diane will be teaching technique and phrasing for vocalists and instrumentalists. She is a popular jazz, blues and bebop vocalist and violinist, with a mature vision, a smoky sound and a tastefully-informed melodic sense. Her moody and intimate interpretations of the American Popular Songbook put a new perspective on old standards. Diane will be teaching technique and phrasing for vocalists and instrumentalists. She is Julliard-trained, a Minstrel headliner and as renowned on the NY/NJ jazz scene as a singer and fiddler.
